Sell it outright
You hand over the keys and leave with a check. You do not have to buy anything from us and we are not going to push you to. Some people just need the car gone.
We buy cars, trucks, and SUVs
Selling privately means strangers at your house, test drives with people you do not know, and a stack of DMV forms you have to get right. Bring it to us instead and you are done in an afternoon.
How we price it
Tim looks at what your car is actually selling for right now, not a generic number off a website. Year, miles, condition, service history, how many of them are sitting on lots around here, and what people in Ventura and LA county are paying for that model this month.
Then he tells you the number and why. If your tires are shot or the AC is out, you will hear how much that moved things. No mystery deductions that show up after you have already agreed.
"If I lowball you, you go somewhere else and I have wasted both our time. I would rather just tell you what it is worth."
Two ways to do it
You hand over the keys and leave with a check. You do not have to buy anything from us and we are not going to push you to. Some people just need the car gone.
Whatever it appraises for goes toward your next car, which drops the amount you need to finance and usually your monthly payment with it. See what is on the lot first if you want.
We pay the lender directly. Worth more than the payoff and the difference is yours. Worth less and Tim will show you exactly where that gap lands before you commit to anything.
What happens
One thing worth knowing. Cars get appraised on the day, so a number from three weeks ago is not going to hold. The market moves.
Straight answers
No. We buy cars outright and you walk away with a check. If you want to put the money toward something on our lot that works too, but there is no obligation either way.
Yes, we deal with payoffs regularly. If the car is worth more than you owe, the difference comes to you. If you owe more than it is worth, that gap has to be covered somehow, and Tim will walk you through the options before anything is signed.
Often yes. Check engine light, body damage, high miles, we still look at it. Condition affects the number but it does not make the car worthless. Tell Tim what is wrong up front and the appraisal goes faster.
About twenty minutes. Tim looks it over, drives it around the block, and gives you a number the same visit. No cost, and no obligation to take it.
We do. That includes the transfer and the release of liability, which is the part people forget when they sell to a private party and then get someone else's parking tickets three months later.
Bring it in and let Tim look. Sometimes he can, sometimes the other guy needs that exact car more than we do and you should take their number. He will tell you which one it is.
If you are buying anyway, the trade lowers what you finance and usually your payment. If you are not buying, take the check. It depends on what you are actually trying to do.
People come to Simi Valley from Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Camarillo, and Chatsworth, and to El Monte from West Covina, Baldwin Park, Arcadia, and Rosemead. Call the closer lot first.
Call ahead so Tim is there when you pull in. The appraisal is free either way.
