Used car purchase paperwork overview

Every deal is different, but most purchases include documents like these. Tim will walk you through yours line by line. This is a general overview, not legal advice.

Buyer's order / purchase agreement: The summary of the vehicle, price, trade-in, fees, and total. Review every number before you move forward.
Retail installment contract: Your financing agreement if you are making payments. Shows amount financed, APR, payment amount, and term length.
Buyer's Guide (FTC): Discloses whether the vehicle is sold "as-is" or with a warranty. Read it before you buy.
Odometer statement: Records the mileage at sale. Federal requirement on most used vehicle sales.
Title & registration paperwork: Transfers ownership and gets the car registered in your name. We help coordinate this part of the process.
